2. How long is Enterprise LTSC 2024 supported?
Microsoft lists a five-year Fixed Lifecycle from 1 October 2024 through 9 October 2029.
3. Does it have a ten-year lifecycle?
No. The standard Enterprise LTSC 2024 release has five years. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2024 is a separate product with ten years.
4. Is LTSC recommended for every office PC?
No. Microsoft says LTSC is not intended for most or all PCs in an organisation. General-purpose users normally benefit from the current Windows 11 Enterprise channel.
5. Does LTSC receive security updates?
Yes. LTSC receives monthly cumulative quality updates, including applicable security fixes, throughout its supported lifecycle.
6. Does it receive annual feature updates?
No. New LTSC feature releases arrive every several years and become planned deployments that can be installed or skipped.
7. Is LTSC 2024 based on Windows 11 24H2?
Yes. Microsoft says its features are similar to version 24H2 and include cumulative improvements introduced through Windows 11 21H2, 22H2, 23H2 and 24H2.
8. Is Microsoft Edge included?
Yes. Microsoft Edge is the default browser. Internet Explorer is removed, although Edge IE mode can support qualifying legacy sites.
9. Will every Store or in-box app work?
Do not assume so. Microsoft warns that support from apps and tools designed for the general channel, including some Store and in-box experiences, may be limited.
10. What are the minimum hardware requirements?
A compatible 64-bit 1 GHz processor with 2+ cores, 4 GB RAM, 64 GB storage, UEFI and Secure Boot capability, TPM 2.0, and DirectX 12 graphics with WDDM 2.0.
11. Is TPM 2.0 required?
Yes. TPM 2.0 is part of Microsoft's standard Windows 11 minimum hardware requirements.
12. Can it run in a virtual machine?
Yes, with a supported Generation 2 configuration including 4 GB memory, 64 GB storage, two virtual processors, Secure Boot and a virtual TPM.
13. Can I upgrade from Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC?
A planned migration may be possible, but edition, release, hardware, applications, drivers and licensing entitlement must be validated first.
14. Will my existing applications work?
Many Win32 applications can work, but every critical application, driver, peripheral and management agent should be tested against the exact LTSC 2024 image.
15. Can it be managed with Group Policy and Intune?
Windows 11 supports familiar Group Policy management and Microsoft documents Intune administrative templates and settings catalogue policies. Some services require separate licensing.
16. Does it support kiosk configurations?
