Fixed-feature productivity for managed Windows devices
A clear, controlled Office deployment for organisations that specifically need the 2021 release
Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 is designed for commercial environments that value a stable feature set, familiar desktop applications and per-device deployment. Choose it for a documented compatibility requirement—not simply because it is the newest Office release.
Purchase with purpose
Who is Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 for?
This edition is best treated as a compatibility-led purchase. It can suit organisations with an established 2021 application baseline, tested add-ins or regulated workflows that cannot yet move to a newer Office release.
Existing 2021 environments
Maintain consistency with a tested Office 2021 desktop build across managed devices.
Fixed-feature requirements
Use a perpetual desktop release that receives security and quality updates, but no ongoing feature additions.
Planned transition projects
Bridge a defined migration window while preparing for Office LTSC 2024 or Microsoft 365 Apps.
The familiar desktop toolkit
Core applications for daily business work
The Windows edition includes the traditional Professional Plus application set. New Office LTSC 2021 installations no longer include the Microsoft Teams client.
Application availability and deployment behaviour should be checked against Microsoft’s current Office LTSC 2021 overview and deployment guide.
Licensing made understandable
Licence the devices that will use Office
Office LTSC is licensed per device under Microsoft Commercial Licensing. The licence is assigned to a physical device; users may use Office on that licensed device. Choose a pack that matches the number of devices covered by your licence documentation.
- Per-device model: count the devices that will run or access Office.
- MAK activation: internet connectivity is required when activating with a Multiple Activation Key.
- 32-bit or 64-bit: all Office products installed on a device must use the same architecture.
- Not a subscription: the release has a fixed feature set and does not include ongoing feature upgrades.
Activation capacity is not a substitute for licence entitlement. Keep your invoice and supplied licensing documentation with your deployment records.
Choose the right generation
Office 2021, Office LTSC 2024 or Microsoft 365?
A transparent comparison helps protect your budget and avoids buying a release that does not fit the planned lifecycle.

Frequently asked questions
Is Office LTSC Professional Plus 2021 a subscription?
No. Office LTSC is typically licensed as a perpetual, per-device product through Microsoft Commercial Licensing. “Perpetual” does not mean that Microsoft supplies updates or support forever; the Office LTSC 2021 support lifecycle ends on 13 October 2026.
Does a MAK activation count equal a licence entitlement?
No. A Multiple Activation Key is an activation method. Your licence documentation determines how many devices are entitled to use the software. Retain your order documentation and deploy only to properly licensed devices.
Does the current installation include Microsoft Teams?
Microsoft states that new Office LTSC 2021 installations no longer include the Teams client. Teams licensing and installation should be assessed separately.
Should I install the 32-bit or 64-bit edition?
Microsoft generally recommends 64-bit Office on devices with at least 4 GB of memory, but legacy add-ins or integrations can require 32-bit Office. All Office products on one device must use the same architecture.
Can I use this through Windows Server Remote Desktop Services?
Only when every accessing device and the Windows Server environment are correctly licensed. RDS CALs and Office licensing are separate requirements. Contact sales before ordering for a remote-access deployment.
Is an account-bound retail key the same as Office LTSC Professional Plus?
No. An account-bound retail edition and a volume-licensed Professional Plus deployment are materially different offers. They should be selected and documented separately.
