Use a current supported version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox. Browser and tenant policies can affect individual features.
Power BI Desktop
Desktop is a 64-bit Windows application. Microsoft lists Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016 and later, .NET 4.7.2 or later, at least 2 GB available RAM and 4 GB or more recommended.
Mac and mobile users
Mac users can access the Power BI service in a supported browser, but Power BI Desktop does not install natively on macOS. Mobile apps are available separately.

Power BI Pro licence FAQs
Is this licence per person or per device?
It is per named user. Select the number of individual people who need Power BI Pro; a licence is assigned to each user account rather than to a computer.
Does every report viewer need Power BI Pro?
In shared capacity, people who publish, share, collaborate on or consume shared content generally need Pro or another suitable paid licence. Free users may view eligible content hosted in qualifying Premium or Fabric F64-and-above capacity.
Is Power BI Desktop included?
Power BI Desktop is available separately as a free Windows application. This Power BI Pro entitlement is for the paid service capabilities used to publish, share and collaborate.
Can I use Power BI Pro on a Mac?
The Power BI service can be used in a supported browser on macOS. Power BI Desktop is a Windows application and does not have a native macOS version.
Does Power BI Pro include Copilot?
Not by itself. Copilot availability depends on separate Microsoft Fabric or Power BI capacity, tenant settings, region and current Microsoft requirements. Confirm those requirements before purchasing Pro specifically for Copilot.
How is my order delivered?

Do I need a work or school email address?
Power BI normally uses an organisational account. Your administrator may also control whether users can sign up or buy licences themselves, so check your Microsoft 365 tenant policy before ordering.
What if my organisation already uses Microsoft 365 E5?
Power BI Pro is included with Microsoft 365 E5. Ask your administrator to check whether the intended users already have an entitlement before purchasing additional licences.
What happens after the one-year term?
This product covers the supplied one-year entitlement. Plan ahead if users need uninterrupted access beyond that term and contact support about the appropriate continuation path.
